"Fade Into You" by Great Thunder // Strange Kicks EP (Available Now via Bandcamp)

Great Thunder is comprised of Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) and Swearin's Keith Spencer, or as they’re credited on the album, “K & K”. Naturally, after the incredible work that Crutchfield has been putting out these past couple of years, I’d be up for following her anywhere, but she went ahead and made it even easier by putting out the excellent “Strange Kicks” EP which features some genuinely excellent indie pop that is loaded with dreamy melodies, dance-able beats, and the occasional shredding guitar. It also features this fantastic take on the Mazzy Star classic, “Fade Into You”, which revs up the sound a little with a drum machine beat and the guitar work amplified a little bit, and in turn updates the classic in wonderful fashion. You can grab the entire EP now at Bandcamp, or order the cassette version from Stupid Bag Records
